Kelly is a practicing attorney based in Los Angeles. She specializes in litigating novel legal issues that intersect law, technology, and entertainment. She has always loved Asian-Americana—its shared history, culture, and broad diversification. Tying together her journey in law and her identity, Kelly has a passion for addressing institutional gaps within the legal profession by building infrastructure to fill them, from co-founding a student organization for First Generation Professionals to the Breaking Bamboo Boxes Project.

In her spare time, Kelly enjoys reading autobiographical works and traveling with her husband and dogs—a rescue Aussie named Zulabee and a large Pomeranian named Juniper.

Breaking Bamboo Boxes is an anthology celebrating the trailblazing stories of Asian American legal luminaries around the country. This collection is the first of its kind to tell these stories in the luminaries’ own words, and it culminates three years of collaboration between practicing lawyers, judges, retired legal professionals, and law student volunteers.

From recounting front-liners in the Civil Rights Movement to showcasing statistically anomalous barrier-breaking across the Fortune 500, top law firms, and the judiciary, Breaking Bamboo Boxes memorializes stories that may otherwise be lost to time, highlighting the importance of amplifying all voices in American history.
