Mary Long

Mary Long was a women’s health nurse with 18 years of experience before transitioning to complex care pediatrics. She has achieved her goal of becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner at Bethany Children's Health Center in Oklahoma. She is the biological mother to Max, Cash, and Fallon and a secondary mother to many children she has loved during her adulthood.

Mary's story is one of immense courage and resilience. It's not an easy tale to tell, but in her bravery to share it, we hope it will serve as a beacon of hope for those who are on their own journey of healing.

"I Held Hands With the Devil" is a compelling memoir that chronicles Mary's journey of strength and healing from trauma. It's a story that will inspire and uplift, showing that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope.

This is not your typical coming-of-age story. In Mary’s memoir, she realizes that her childhood was not a typical life; it was a life filled with shame and guilt. Without responsible adults to protect and guide her into adulthood, Mary had to discover the demons that plagued her mind and soul while dealing with adult grievances. This is a story of shedding the guilt that is not ours to carry while becoming a beautiful woman of God.
