Author, Veteran, and Storyteller of the Everyday Hero
Todd Ockert is a retired U.S. Navy veteran who served with distinction for 26 years and now resides in West Texas with his wife. After his naval career, he transitioned into the energy industry, where he currently works for an oil and gas company.
Drawing on his real-world experiences in the military and competitive shooting, Todd crafts post-apocalyptic and supernatural fiction imbued with authenticity, grit, and relatable characters. His writing is most prominently featured in the Supernatural Apocalyptic War series, beginning with Rubicon Escape, where an EMP strike sets the stage for communities of veterans and survivors to confront threats both earthly and mystical. The series continues with Magic Revealed, Anarchy Reigns, expanding into a post-collapse world infused with magic, prophecy, and paranormal creatures. The narrative explores themes of resilience, community, and unexpected supernatural powers among midlife heroes and heroines.
Beyond writing, Todd is deeply engaged in his community. He co-founded TALA Media,
a publishing imprint dedicated to stories that blend action, emotional depth, and real-
world integrity. He also supports veteran causes, champions preparedness and resilient
communities, and enjoys spending time outdoors. Additionally, Todd serves as the
