Our Journeys: Stories That Carry Us

Hosted by The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library

Join us for an interactive workshop that honors intergenerational storytelling, preserves community voices, and connects participants through shared reflections. Through prompts, creative activities, and take-home ideas, participants of all backgrounds will explore ways to document family journeys. A storytelling workbook with reflection pages will be given to participants to continue documenting their family stories at home. The workshop also invites participants to visit the Vietnamese Boat People Our Journeys exhibition, on view through Sept 28, 2025 at Think!Chinatown in NYC.

Facilitator:

Amy M. Le is the award-winning author of The Snow Trilogy (Snow in Vietnam, Snow in Seattle, and Snow’s Kitchen). She is also the Founder and CEO of Quill Hawk Publishing, dedicated to amplifying diverse voices one story at a time. She formerly served on the Vietnamese Boat People (VBP) Board of Directors, where she played a key role in developing the community collections for VBP’s Journey Maps digital archive.

Co-Facilitator: 
Tracey Nguyễn Mang is the founder of Vietnamese Boat People (VBP) and executive producer of its award-winning podcast. Inspired by her family’s journey, she created VBP to preserve the stories of Vietnamese refugees and amplify voices often left out of mainstream narratives. Through storytelling, she seeks to foster empathy, bridge generations, and build understanding across cultures.
