The Gathering of Lost Soles

This simple black-and-white photo book of lost shoes began when the author noticed occasional pieces of firewood along the highway. Her friend needed some to keep her family warm, so the author started to collect them whenever she saw any. Later, she noticed bricks, but no one required them because that was a short-lived phenomenon.

The author saw random shoes along the roads that spring, and it came to her: lost soles! (Souls... See what she did there?) The funny thing was that they suddenly appeared everywhere! She started collecting them, and a friend carved the cross for her to take to the Cornerstone Festival that year to display outside the tent area. She even wrote a poem to go with them!

Where did these lost soles come from? Who did they belong to? How did they get there? A picture can tell a thousand words with a single imagination!
